Kevin Smith Confirmed to Moderate STARZ "Ash vs Evil Dead" Panel at New York Comic-Con

New York, NY - Wednesday, Oct 7th - Creating the ultimate fanboy mash-up, STARZ has tapped pop-culture icon – screenwriter, producer, director, actor and comic book writer – Kevin Smith (“Comic Book Men,” Clerks, Chasing Amy) to moderate the network’s “Ash vs Evil Dead” panel at New York Comic-Con featuring cast and crew of the long-awaited Evil Dead reprise. Taking place Saturday, October 10th at the Hammerstein Ballroom, Smith is set to moderate what is sure to be an epically entertaining and mind-blowing panel about the highly anticipated new series which will premiere Saturday, October 31st on STARZ. 

 

Joining Smith will be original Evil Deadfilmmaker Sam Raimi (who directed all the films and the first episode of “Ash vs Evil Dead”) and original Evil Dead and series star Bruce Campbell, as well as showrunner Craig DiGregorio and cast including: Lucy Lawless (“Salem,” “Spartacus,” “Xena”), Ray Santiago (“Touch,” Meet the Fockers), Dana DeLorenzo (A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas) and Jill Marie Jones (“Sleepy Hollow”).

 

The 10-episode first season of the half-hour series is executive produced by Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert, Bruce Campbell, the original filmmakers, and Craig DiGregorio who serves as executive producer and showrunner. “Ash vs Evil Dead,” is the long-awaited follow-up to the classic The Evil Dead film franchise.

 

The cast is led by Bruce Campbell (Evil Dead, “Burn Notice”) reprising his role of Ash Williams, the stock boy, aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead. Rounding out the cast are Lucy Lawless (“Salem,” “Spartacus”) as Ruby a mysterious figure who believes Ash is the cause of the Evil outbreaks, Ray Santiago (“Touch,” Meet the Fockers) as Pablo Simon Bolivar, an idealistic immigrant who becomes Ash’s loyal sidekick, Dana DeLorenzo (A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas) as Kelly Maxwell, a moody wild child trying to outrun her past and Jill Marie Jones (“Sleepy Hollow”) as Amanda Fisher, a disgraced Michigan State Trooper set to find our anti-hero Ash and prove his responsibility in the grisly murder of her partner.

 

 

WHAT:                                STARZ brings its hotly anticipated Original series “Ash vs Evil Dead” to New York Comic Con 2015.  The series premiering Saturday, October 31st at 9 PM ET/PTwill host a panel in Hammerstein Ballroom as well as autograph signings and press interview opportunities.  The panel will include original Evil Deadfilmmaker Sam Raimi and original Evil Dead and series star Bruce Campbell, as well as showrunner Craig DiGregorio and cast including: Lucy Lawless (“Salem,” “Spartacus,” “Xena”), Ray Santiago (“Touch,” Meet the Fockers),  Dana DeLorenzo (A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas) and Jill Marie Jones (“Sleepy Hollow”).

 

 

Located at the Inner Roadway, a killer Ash vs Evil Dead experience will be waiting. The activation will include Ash’s trailer, his bloody chainsaw, and prizes for the bravest souls.

There will be a raffle for 100 attendees to win autograph signing passes.  Attendees can stop by the trailer on Thursday and Friday for their chance to win.
