Poppy! and the Lost Lagoon Dark Horse Comic Review

Poppy! and the Lost Lagoon is an adventure story for all ages told in the same vein as the Tintin and Doc Savage stories that inspired it. Brian Hurtt and Matt Kindt have created a graphic serial that evokes the look of a classic storybook I might have read in grade school and filtered it through the medium of a comic book.
The artwork has a real water color and or crayon color aspect to it with a mix of natural tones that contrast well with the extraordinary adventures the character embark upon. From the moment it begins we are on a flying carpet to a metropolitan penthouse filled with strange characters and wondrous things.
The characters bicker and take risks as they go on their fantastic adventures and learn valuable lessons that encourage friendship, love and a personal passion for greater ideals. Poppy! and the Lost Lagoon is available now at comic shops and will debut at bookstores on and offline on June 21, 2016 courtesy of Dark Horse Comics.
