The first season of CON MAN introduces Wray Nerely (Alan Tudyk), a cult science fiction actor who is stuck in a rut and feels trapped by the pigeonhole that SPECTRUM, his most popular project to date, has put him in. As he navigates the world of fan conventions and all of the surreal experiences that go along with them, Wray tries to land a serious role that will win him the respect he so desperately craves. On one end of the spectrum is a possible Clint Eastwood western. On the other end of the spectrum is, well, SPECTRUM the movie, much to Wray's dismay.

Wray Nerely experiences an unusual fan interaction in the airport men's room and receives advice from Sean Astin. Wray meets his convention assistant and signs autographs for his fans.
 
“Behind the Lines; Handicapableing It All Up” – 10:30/9:30c
Bobbie tries to help Wray with his audition, but hinders more than helps. Mocap-king Jerry Lansing pushes pain killers on Wray. Wray insults the fans and tries to apologize but makes it worse.
 
“Baby Boom; A Fluid Thing” -11:00/10:00c
Wray meets the girl of his dreams. Bobbie competes in a cosplay contest. Bobbie's "levy" is cresting under the tempest of Leslie Jordan and Sean Maher's attention. Wray gets an action figure.
 
“Doll Faced; Voiced Over” – 11:30/10:35c
The morning after the VIP party - Wray discovers that he recorded and sent in his audition during his drug and alcohol fueled blackout. Wray insults the fans and apologizes only insulting them more. A handicapped mob forms and gives pursuit.
 
“Sinking Feelings; Thank You For Your Service”-12:00am/11:00c
Wray learns that Jack wants to make a Spectrum movie. Wray arrives at Milo's panel only to realize it's on racism in animation. Spectrum's creator leaks the lost episode of the show online.
 
“Full Release; Found and Lost; Too Much Closure For Comfort” 1:00am/12:00c
The cast of Spectrum has a reunion at Jack's house and watches the lost episode. Wray has a one-on-one with each of his Spectrum co-stars. Wray's militant co-star Stutter exacts his revenge.
